Fourth Annual Vibrator - August 12
Vashon Island, WA - (Start time 4:00 pm)
Hop the Fauntleroy ferry to Vashon this weekend and find yourself ripping through some of the raddest single track around. There'll also be a time trial from the ferry terminal to the start area of the single track race. Ah, choices, choices...which bike to bring? You'll figure it out! It'll be a huge biking/partying/camping weekend, so prepare for plenty of beer and barbecue and to spend the night under the stars. More details coming all the time, register at http://crankedmag.com/vibrator.html
Best Hidden Downtown Bicycle Boutique
It's worth the hunt, and the stairs, to find MOBIUS CYCLES on First Avenue (though there's also a freight elevator to the loft), whose approach to repairs, instruction, and custom bike building is anything but off the rack. Owner Niki Beals, already experienced as a messenger and mechanic, now applies her experience with track, road, fixed-gear, commuter, and even BMX rides. (SeattleWeekly)
